LeafsNation21 is back and better than ever! Let's get right ito it. This off-season I was at a wedding and my sister's phone went off. She screams out and I look and see this: "Toronto has aquired Dave Bolland from the Chicago Blackhawks."
Dynamic Double Day May 4, 2013
Known to all of the Star Wars fans as May the fourth be with you day, today (May 4th) is James Van Riemsdyk's birthday. Today is iconic in many places so hopefully JVR can put some home tonight against Boston in game 2 of this series. With one quick goal in game 1, he scored the lone goal for the Leafs to have a shot but unfortunatley they fell apart.
Leafs Playoff Preview April 28, 2013
Last night's game between the Habs and the Leafs was said to be a first round playoff preview. However, they were wrong because the Leafs lost so it wasn't a preview at all. Reimer did slip putting Scrivens in net. Ben did not let any in, but it was too little too late. As long as Boston wins tonight against the Ottawa Senators, it will be the Leafs and Habs toe-toe in the first round. The first team to win 4 games win the series and move on to the second round. However, if Boston loses, then it will be the Leafs and Bruins in the first round. This season the Leafs have proven that they are not good against the Bruins. I am praying that Boston will win and this may be the only time that I will actually be cheering for Boston.
Leafs Playoff Tickets April 25, 2013
The Leafs Playoff tickets were supposed to go on sale today at 10:00 AM. However, if someone tried to purchase a ticket(s) the site would not work.In the meantime they were going on other sites for about 900 to 13 000 dollars! 13 000!!!! It took about half an hour for the Leafs salespeople to finally figure out that it did not work. However, the system did improve and tickets sold out FAST. Like normal they cost a whole lot. However, Leafs Nation will go to the games if they haven't been to the playoffs in 9 years. We may have to wait another decade. Who knows? Me personally will not purchase tickets because I don't really think it's worth 1 000 dollars for 2 and a half hours.
The leafs have clinched april 23, 2013
It has been 9 long years but the Leafs clinched a playoff spot on Saturday. All of Leafs Nation have been anticipating a clinch ever since the coaching staff was shifted and coach Carlyle risked Luke Schenn for JVR. James has proven himself to be a player that can deliver. Only JVR and a few other Leafs have made it to the post-season. JVR being the only one who has made it to the Stanley Cup Final. He may not have won, but he sure has experience. It is looking like the Leafs will be playing the Montreal Canadiens in the first round. However, the standings can very well get shifted. Their record with the habs is great this season. The Leafs have won 3 out of 4. The Leafs are looking to prove the Nation of Leafs' enemies wrong by making it to the final. Look at New Jersey, last season no one thought they would get to the final. They pushed it to game 7 and won. With Philly, they won in 6 games. With the Rangers, it took 6. But the Kings...that's a different story. They tried and won 2 games out of 6. All I can say is that they were the MAJOR underdogs.
Realignment for 2013-14 season April 11, 2013
PLayoff picture April 8, 2013
Pittsburgh and Chiacgo have officially clinched their playoff spot. With under 10 games to go in the regular season, the Leafs are hoping to be among the clubs that make it. This could be the year for the Leafs. As normal, it will be the same process. East plays East and West plays West.
1 plays 8
2 plays 7
3 plays 6
4 plays 5
If the playoffs were to begin today, the Leafs would play the Bruins because Toronto is in 5th and Boston is in 4th.

NHL 2013 Season at a Glance March 29, 2013
The Toronto Maple Leafs have won the Stanley Cup 13 times. For the past few years, they haven't even made the playoffs, let alone the Stanley Cup final. However, this roster may be a winning one. With James Van Reimsdyk, Phil Kessel, Joffrey Lupul (recently returning from a forearm injury), Ben Scrivens and Nazem Kadri, they may have a shot at the Cup. Pittsburgh, on the other hand, has acquired Jarome Iginla from the Calgary Flames. Their 15 game winning streak proves that they are a Stanley Cup contender. In the Western Conference, Chicago started the season with a staggering 24 games without a regulation loss. Minnesota has pushed through to attain the 3rd spot in the West due to Niklas Backstrom's stunning performance. He has lead the Wild to be in 4th spot in the West. Though Pittsburgh and Chicago's astonishing winning streaks have proven that they are Stanley Cup worthy, but make no mistake that the Leafs are in for their first playoff run in years.
